Citi Bike eBikes in NYC

Citi Bike, the bicycle sharing provider in New York City, just welcomed back 900 electric pedal assisted e-bikes to their fleet. These ebikes return after a brake recall pulled them off the streets a few months ago. Citi Bike operates 750 docking stations and 12,000 regular bicycles but those numbers will be changing soon. The popular ride sharing app, Lyft, operates Citi Bikes in New York City and has a $100M plan to double the size of the current Citi Bike network.

Riding one of the pedal assisted e-bikes will cost an extra $0.10 per minute for Citi Bike members and $0.15 per minute for non-members. The new e-bikes can be reserved from one of the existing Citi Bike docking stations or from within the Lyft mobile app.

We've updated our Citi Bike page as well as our Lyft in NYC page to include the new information on e-bike pricing and screenshots showing how to reserve an e-bike from within the Lyft mobile app.
